How long ago it was — my last visit to Maisaran. Nearly seven? Six?
Oh, the mysteries that you keep, Maisaran. The mysteries that lie underneath..

Between Davao and Cagayan de Oro cities, see earlier posting.
Between Davao and Cotabato cities, a comfortable wi-fi zone is the ground floor resto of AJ Hi-Time hotel in Kidapawan City. The first table on the right is the best spot, with electrical outlets, too, in case your laptop battery goes on reserve.
Since you wouldn’t want to be driven out while writing or surfing,
do order some food. Their bihon serving is huge. And yummy.

VALENCIA CITY (MindaNews/29 March) — If you’re somewhere between Davao and Cagayan de Oro cities and your boss calls you to email that most recent report or business update, worry no more.
Aside from internet cafes, there are now wi—fi zones along the 300-kilometer distance between the two major cities. And while neighboring Malaybalay City has only one wi-fi hotspot, this city now has three wi-fi zones: the spacious Taipan Restaurant of Hotel Valencia; the airy café at the D’Azur Apartelle near the highway across the bus terminal; and at J-mart at the Jetti gasoline station, although only one of five tables is inside the airconditioned mart.

There used to be a hotel along the national highway in Bukidnon, at a corner near the Cathedral, and it was called “Roadside Hotel” (or was that “Roadway Hotel.”?)
It was a two-storey wooden structure which shook (or at least it felt like it shook) each time a truck would pass by (and trucks, per regulation, would pass by at night, while you’re trying to sleep).
I can’t figure out now what it has become –a photo shop? Another hotel? I passed there Friday and was told it’s likely what is now Limbo Hotel (which I am told today, sports yet another name, Hotel Alemanya?)

LETTER FROM MINDANAO: What 200 million US dollars can do
By Carolyn O. Arguillas/MindaNews
DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/26 March) – If the National Broadband Network – ZTE anomaly had not been discovered, taxpayers would, as soon as the loan is due, be paying US$ 329 million for a project that actually costs only $ 129 million.
Worse, taxpayers would be paying for the overprice of US$ 200 million ($130-M and $70-M) which would have gone to the pockets of two already very wealthy and influential men in the country but with seemingly insatiable greed for the greenbacks.
But we won’t really know just how greedy these people are unless we get a good idea of what we can do or buy with the money they steal from us (for isn’t overpricing also stealing?).
